Get to know all the stages of olive picking -from harvest in the olive grove, to the press.
Stay in a small family hotel in the beautiful village of Xiropigado in the Peloponnese, right on the beach of the serene Argolic gulf, close to the historic city of Nafplion.
The hotel is a small business run by Mountsouris family. Yiannis Mountsouris will cook tasty homely meals for you, using local fresh produce, in the hotel taverna.

Day 1
Transfer from the airport or from the city of Corinth
Arrival at the hotel

Welcome and introduction to your holiday activities
Swim and walk in the village
Day 2
Breakfast at 7:30am
Transfer to the olive grove at 8:30am
Olive picking till 12.00am and picnic lunch
Visit to the olive press at 13.30pm
Transfer back to the hotel
Olive sorting by size. Get your own jar of olives in brine
Day 3
Breakfast at 7:30am
Transfer to the olive grove at 8:30am
Olive picking till 12.00am and picnic lunch
Free time for hiking / visit to the aesthetician for a facial / massage / manicure - pedicure
Dinner in the hotel taverna at 6:30pm.
Gather in front of the fireplace and listen to a narration of the history of olive oil and olive picking as we know it from mythology to the present times.
Day 4
Breakfast at 7:30am
Transfer to the olive grove at 8:30
Visit the olive press and see the olives yield extra virgin oil. Partake of a feast of “boukouva” (toasted bread, dipped in freshly pressed olive oil and sprinkled with oreganon)
Free afternoon
We all prepare our dinner together. Learn how to make greek salad, tzatziki and a warm main dish, using our own olive oil.
Day 5
Breakfast at 8:30am
Free day- choose your own activity. We suggest you take the bus to Argos and visit the local market. Lose yourself in the noise, enjoy the colours and smells of fresh fruit, vegetables, spices and herbs. You can even find bargains on the clothes’ stalls.
Other options are:
Have a facial with olive oil based creams and ointments, by a qualified aesthetician here in Xiropigado.
Have a massage by a qualified physiotherapist.
Visit the museum of the old olive press in the nearby village of Korakovouni
Day 6
Breakfast at 8.00am
Transfer at your group’s choice of archaeological site: Epidaurus or Mycenae
Transfer to the beautiful old city of Naplion. Here you can have lunch and take a stroll in its narrow alleys, to discover lovely gift shops and ice cream parlours.
Dinner at our hotel taverna
Day 7
Breakfast at 8:00am
Hiking on the trails of mount Parnon, to reach the Lepida waterfalls.
Dinner at our hotel taverna for a “Greek night” with live music and dance
Day 8
Breakfast at 8:00am
Departure from hotel
Transfer to Corinth for a train ride to the airport
